Musk ox mamas typically give birth to one calf in the spring, after an eight-month gestation period. Calves may be tiny when first born, but they don't stay little for long! They weigh between 15-25 pounds at birth and can grow up to be 350 to 800 pounds as adults, with females usually weighing less than males.
Quiche was our second Egg Theme calf, born on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, to first-time mom Xenon and proud papa, Hickory.
