Each kit contains 0.2 oz of raw field qiviut, a 3 inch grapevine ball with twine, a wooden pencil, and instructions on how to assemble the nesting ball. Hang your finished work of art inside as decoration, or tie to a tree or fence post outside to help our feathered friends build their nests!
What is raw field qiviut?
We prefer to comb our musk ox to gather their fiber, but musk oxen live on their own schedule. They naturally shed their qiviut in the spring, so what we don’t get to comb is instead gathered by hand from the fields and put straight into this bag. This raw field qiviut is unwashed, so it may have some leftover hay or grass mixed in. The birds don’t mind however, and neither do we!
