This 4.25" by 5.5" card features musk oxen Grayling and Mace as they ruminate over the differences in food quality of their summer grass and winter hay. What an ox-cellent discussion to have over lunch!
Musk oxen are ruminants, with four compartments to their stomach. They eat the grass or hay, using their large upper lip and bottom front teeth to grab the tasty vegetation. It gets chewed just enough to moisten and swallow it. Then the first section of the stomach goes to work softening the food. The cud (that softened food) is regurgitated back into the musk ox's mouth where they chew it for a while before sending it back down to be digested further.
