Qiviut Care Instructions

Washing: Qiviut will not shrink in any water temperature, take care for blended garments. Hand wash your qiviut in warm water with a small amount of mild detergent or shampoo. Wash blended garments in lukewarm or cool water. Soak your garment without agitating and gently rinse. Lay your garment flat on a towel and roll up to remove excess water. Lay flat to dry completely.

Storage: For ultimate protection from moths, place your qiviut in a ziplock bag and store in the freezer when not in use. You can also store qiviut in a cedar chest.

Our Beginner's Blend is a 50% qiviut and 50% Merino wool blend. This 3-ply sport weight yarn is approximately 195 yards per 2-ounce skein. 

This yarn is rich in texture and durability, and it retains its shape while still keeping you warm. The qiviut gives warmth and softness, while the Merino wool allows for more memory and strength. This yarn would make a great pair of mittens, a hat, or a lovely scarf.

Hand Dyed yarn skeins by local Alaskan artist Fiber N Ice in Wasilla, AK. These hand dyed skeins have a variable level of color saturation giving each one a unique color palette.
