Hand Knitted by Ruth, in Ruth's own design, inspired by the musk ox as they build a circle when threatened to fend off predators. This headband is sold ox-clusively at the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, AK.
These headbands are hand knitted on a 20" circular needle. They each have an elastic around the base sides, to help keep shape. The base of each headband is made with a fine wool or a qiviut/fine wool blend— with the exception of the headbands listed below...
- The base of Headband HB119 is made with Angora Rabbit Fiber hand-spun in Alaska.
- The base are made with a blend of 50% Qiviut and 50% Silk for the headbands: HB114, HB115, HB116, HB117 & HB118.
The musk ox bodies are made with qiviut— with the exception of the headbands listed below...
Rather than the musk ox bodies being made of 100% qiviut, as stated above:
- The musk ox bodies are made with a fiber blend of 80% Qiviut and 20% Banana for the headbands: HB102, HB103, HB106, & HB107.
- The musk ox bodies are made with a fiber blend of 80% Qiviut and 20% Bamboo for the headbands: HB100, HB101, & HB108.

A note from Ruth:
"I started knitting and crafting at the age of seven in my home country of Switzerland. In 1988, after backpacking around the world, I was fascinated by the sled dogs and settled in Alaska. My passion with qiviut began in 2004 and to this day it is my favorite fiber to craft with.
