Qiviut Care Instructions

Washing: Qiviut will not shrink in any water temperature, take care for blended garments. Hand wash your qiviut in warm water with a small amount of mild detergent or shampoo. Wash blended garments in lukewarm or cool water. Soak your garment without agitating and gently rinse. Lay your garment flat on a towel and roll up to remove excess water. Lay flat to dry completely.

Storage: For ultimate protection from moths, place your qiviut in a ziplock bag and store in the freezer when not in use. You can also store qiviut in a cedar chest.

Our Bullpen blend is a qiviut "B" drop mill end (80%) and wool (20%) blend. This sport weight skein of yarn is approximately 140 yards and 1.8 ounces.

Mill-end yarn is NOT as soft as our other qiviut blends but it is rich in texture, durability, and will retain its shape while still keeping you very warm. This yarn would make great mittens or the outer layer of a hat or headband.
